Outreachy: Introduce yourself

Hello everyone!

I am Rakhi from India. I’ve done my graduation in computer science and engineering.

I love listening to music and watching tv series in my leisure time. I am specifically a big fan of k-dramas. I also love reading and you can see my love for reading quotations in my blogs as they are everywhere. 😛
And once upon a time, I loved reading novels. 😐

So let me start with me. Basically, I’m a girl who switched to some other field a few years ago, and tada! now I am back to tech and kick-starting my new journey with Outreachy.

And here’s a quote!

“If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello.”

Paul Coelho

It all started when I first got introduced to open source a few months back and it was really an amazing experience working in an open-source environment. Later I came to know about the Outreachy. And that day I set a new dream- The Outreachy.

So, “You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.”

C.S. Lewis

My love for open-source and passion for tech wanted me to give it a try. I was a little bit scared (Yeah, Impostor syndrome is real) but I tried to overcome that feeling and finally gave it a try.
And I will always thank myself to take that step as I really made it to the Outreachy!

I got accepted for Outreachy under The Apache Software Foundation.

My core values are Curiosity, Determination, and Kindness.

I highly value curiosity. I believe being curious about things paves the way to self-learning that ultimately helps us become better humans fueled by self-confidence and knowledge.

“The power to question is the basis of all human progress.” Indira Gandhi

Being curious can make you a better and self-confident person but
determination will make you a successful person.

I also value kindness as kindness is the most important tool to spread love among humanity.

If you can be anything, be kind!

Happy reading and have a nice day! 🙂
